Crisp cotton poplin, a deliberately oversized collar, and that slightly disheveled fit of a really good men’s shirt. The Borrowed Shirt is our version of the button-down you stole from his closet and somehow made better.

The proportions are intentionally exaggerated: a larger, relaxed collar, dropped shoulders, extra room through the body, and sleeves made to be pushed and scrunched up. This one isn’t meant to be buttoned neatly to the top. Leave a few buttons undone, let the collar fall open, roll or bunch the sleeves, and wear it a little loose.

Cut from lightweight 100% cotton poplin, it has enough structure to feel crisp while still looking easy and undone.

Fit note: The Borrowed Shirt runs intentionally oversized — including the collar. It is considerably roomier than our Favorite Shirt and is designed to have that borrowed-from-the-boys proportion. Order your usual size for the intended look, or size down if you want a little less volume without losing the relaxed shape.

Wear it over swim, half-tucked into denim, with boxer shorts, or thrown over basically anything.
